The Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park is part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and is a beautiful museum of medieval and renaissance art work. The building itself was imported brick by brick from Italy and houses some of the most exquisite pieces from 15th and 16th century art. Fun fact is that Stephen Spielberg’s latest film of West Side Story has scenes that take place in the Cloisters. The light from the windows of the Cloisters is beautifully represented in that film. The Cloisters makes a great day trip in Washington Heights, but the question is, where are you going to eat afterwards? We suggest Tampopo Ramen on 1 Bennett Avenue, of course! A nice big bowl of authentic Japanese noodles is always so satisfying after a museum trip. You can also try some appetizers like our Japanese Karaage fried chicken. We hope you will love it! If you don’t feel like walking that far, come to Tampopo Kitchen on 805 West 187th Street for some udon noodles and sushi!
